Order Must Be – Your Categories

Categories are like drawers for your items. The better organized, the faster you find what you're looking for.

Packster comes with 12 categories, but you're not limited to those. Maybe you need a custom category for "Baby Gear", "Camping" or "Diving"?

How to Manage Categories:

Go to Settings → Categories. You'll see all categories with small handles (≡) on the right. Hold a handle and drag – this changes the order. Important categories to the top, rarely used ones to the bottom.

Create New Category

Tap +, enter a name, optionally choose an icon – done. Your new category appears everywhere in the app from now on.

Delete Category

Swipe left. But note – this only works for custom categories. Predefined ones stay.

Where Was That Again? – Storage Locations as Memory Aid

You're packing, but where's the adapter actually? And where did you put the ski goggles after last winter?

Storage locations solve this problem. Assign items to where they're stored at home:

Bathroom Bedroom Basement Garage Hall closet

When you're packing and see an item with a storage location, you immediately know where to look.

Manage Storage Locations

Go to Settings → Storage Locations. Everything works like with categories – sort, create, delete.

Your Perfect List – Reusable Again and Again

After a few trips, you know exactly what you need for a beach vacation. Or for a weekend in the mountains. Or for a business trip.

Instead of starting from zero each time, save your perfect list as a template.

How to Create a Template:

  1. 1 Fill a packing list with everything you need
  2. 2 Tap (menu) on the tile
  3. 3 Select "Save as Template"
  4. 4 Give the template a name ("Beach Vacation", "Ski Trip", "Business Trip")
  5. Done!

How to Use a Template:

When creating a new packing list (+ in the Packing Lists tab) you'll be asked if you want to use a template. Choose one, and all items are immediately on the list. Unpacked, of course – you still have to pack them yourself.

Manage Templates

Under Settings → Templates you see all saved templates and can delete ones you no longer need.
